Superstition in all ages; a dying confession by Jean Meslier, a Roman Catholic priest, who at his death left as his "Last will and testament" this now famous manuscript as contained herein, entitled Common sense. He was "A Rigid Partisan of Justice." A famous Catholic Priest who, after serving one score and ten years, as a Curate of Etrepigny in Champagne, France, renounced, repudiated and completely abjured Catholicism, Romanism, Theology, Religious Dogmas, the errors, the superstitions, the abuses, the follies, and the spurious teachings of the Christian Church, left this famous manuscript as his "Last Will and Testament," requesting while dying that it be published after his death, given to the world and his parishioners. Translated from the French original by Miss Anna Knoop. Reproduction of the 1910 Edition.

According to Wikipedia this book was written by Jean Meslier. However, regardless of who wrote this great piece of work - it is without a doubt the best book ever written on atheism. This book is not just against Christianity, but all forms of religion. Superstition is superstition in any form it comes in! No one out there, knows anymore then I do about creation - afterlife - or any other superstitious nonsense then anyone else. If they proclaim they do - there either insane, delusional, or just plain lying to Themselves. What the various forms of our sciences tells us, is all that our human minds can possibly really know - everything else is either wishful thinking or made up to control others through superstitious nonsense or by force.Product details

Highly Recommended. Definitely COMMON SENSE!
Very, very interesting book reading is almost finished ( 92% ); but I think I'll read it again; how great it would be if all the "believers" read it....
All the best refutations of religion in an age where you wouldn't think it was possible to think this way. Even going so far as demonstrating the impossibility or unlikelihood of many religious claims that science wouldn't disprove for decades or centuries after publication (such as the origins of humans and the plausibility of free will)! Truly amazing!
A magnificent piece, well thought out and thought provoking. We should all be willing to analyze and challenge this area of our lives that impacts us so.
Best historical book of why religion and superstitions are archaic. Even in the 16th century, not everyone accepted faith blindly.
An interesting book to read.
Excellent subject. This Jean Meslier, a former Catholic priest was a genius.
